la sape culinair
@4ur3lia (Aurélia Durand), Milton Addison Abel II (of Andersen & Maillard) and The Blues Woman are collaborating on pop up dinner designed to engage all five senses. Experience Aurelia's design and artistic concepts through the sharing of a meal. Taking cues from the La Sape movement in France, and America's history with the African American movement of dandyism, using color and food, explore what it means to redefine constricting markers of identity. Discuss with us what it means to address stereotypes by normalizing the Black image through representation. Join us as we travel through Aurelia's artistic influences using foods from her upbringing on the Island Reunion, and foods historically brought to the Americas via the African diaspora. This pop up is more than a 3 course meal, it's an experience! (Pescatarian and non-alcoholic cocktail menu available upon request)
